Preparing for Your Summative Evaluation

With the passage of TEACHNJ and AchieveNJ, the summative evaluation process for teachers has changed dramatically. This workshop will focus upon the compiling of important data and aligning data and artifacts to evaluation rubrics in an effort to predict and achieve high summative evaluation ratings. Participants will understand each component of their summative evaluation, how each component is derived, and discuss advocacy methods for improving summative evaluation scores.

The Common Core State Standards place a strong emphasis upon the ability of students to apply knowledge to new and novel situations. In order to better prepare students for the rigor the CCSS, teachers must now model the type of thinking required by the CCSS through higher order questioning.
